How are they made? We start by making a die with your design in it and we use this die to strike your design in a copper or brass base metal. We use copper or brass because the soft properties of these metals allows for a sharp and detailed stamping. If called for in your design we hand sand blast the pin to create the textured or “sandblast” background. After this stage enamel colors are applied to the recessed areas based on your design. A syringe filled with enamel paints is used to apply the color to the wells created by the stamping process. Your pins are than baked in a 350 degree oven to cure the enamel. A trim tool is than used to carefully cut out the outside shape of your lapel pin. The raised surface of your lapel pin is than polished to a mirror like finish. Finally, the attachment of your choice is applied and your pin is inspected for quality and packaged for shipping. Not what you need?
