The Blue & Yellow awareness ribbons are virtually only used for Down syndrome or trisomy 21 awareness. These colors were used for the "Buddy Walk" that was established in 1995 by the "National Down Syndrome Society" to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome which is estimated at 1 per 800 to 1000 births. Each awareness pin includes a clutch back and is individually poly bagged.October is Down syndrome awareness month.
