2019 Contest for a Cause submission criteria

CONTEST FOR A CAUSE

Please read this entire document to receive all the pertinent submission criteria & eligibility information regarding entry for this contest.   

Submission Criteria: All submissions will be considered for the Scholarship based on the following criteria:

  • GPA 2.5 or higher, as supported by transcripts.
  • Level of involvement with an awareness cause.
  • Content of essay, including creativity and clarity of details. Content must be the original work of the entrant. Within the essay entrant should answer the following: why has entrant become involved with this awareness cause, what has entrant done to promote the cause, the level of involvement the entrant has with the cause.
  • Letters of recommendation.

Eligibility: PinMart’s Contest for a Cause (the “Scholarship”) is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, who are at least 16 years or older, who are enrolled and in good standing (GPA of 2.5 or higher) at a US post-secondary educational program or institution (including universities, community colleges, or vocational schools) on January 15th 2019, Employees, directors, officers, and agents of PinMart, Inc. (“Sponsor”), its affiliates, advertising, promotion, and judging agencies and all other service agencies involved with the Scholarship, and members of the immediate family (spouse, parent, child, sibling and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and household of each such employee (whether or not related) are not eligible to enter or be a winner.

ENTRANTS WHO ARE UNDER THE AGE OF MAJORITY IN THEIR JURISDICTION OF RESIDENCE MUST OBTAIN CONSENT OF THEIR PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN TO ENTER.

Selection of Contest Winner:  On or about August 1st, 2019, one entrant will be chosen as the winner of the PinMart Contest for a Cause. Shortly thereafter, the winner will be notified by their provided email.

Winner’s prize is a scholarship check that will be awarded directly to the winner’s post-secondary educational program or institute.

This Scholarship is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited. Participation constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules and Sponsor’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Scholarship.

Scholarship Entry Period: The Scholarship entry period begins on January 15th 2019 at 12:00:00 a.m. CST and ends May 31st, 2019 at 11:59:59 p.m. CST.  All entries must be received before the end time/date to be valid.

BY SUBMITTING AN ENTRY, ENTRANT ACKNOWLEDGES THAT SHOULD ENTRANT BE CHOSEN AS THE SCHOLARSHIP WINNER, ENTRANT AGREES THAT, AT THE SOLE DISCRETION OF THE SPONSOR, ENTRANT MAY BE FEATURED ON THE SPONSOR’S WEBSITE, SOCIAL MEDIA OUTLETS, SELECT WEB PAGES AND ANY OTHER SPONSOR MEDIA. SPONSOR WILL ASK FOR A PHOTO OF WINNER FOR THIS PURPOSE.

THE PRIZE:  The winner will receive a Fifteen Hundred Dollar ($1,500.00) scholarship (the “Prize”) towards any tuition expenses at their currently enrolled post-secondary educational program or institution (including universities, community colleges, or vocational schools) that is intended to grant a degree or diploma. THE SCHOLARSHIP SHALL BE PAID DIRECTLY TO THE INSTITUTION IN ORDER TO COVER COSTS FOR THE WINNER’S TUITION EXPENSES. IN THE EVENT THE POST-SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM OR INSTITUTE DOES NOT ACCEPT THE SCHOLARSHIP, THE SCHOLARSHIP WILL BE PAID DIRECTLY TO THE WINNING ELIGIBLE ENTRANT.

No cash alternative or prize substitution will be allowed.

Taxes (INCLUDING ANY INCOME TAXES) are the sole responsibility of the winner regardless of whether scholarship is used in whole or in part.
